Jour 2 : Ayni et toute l'équipe ICN - Day 2: Ayni and the whole ICN team

Deuxième journée à Addis Abeba pour Patricia. Journée très chargée mais aussi pleine de découvertes dans une ambiance très amicale. Visite enchanteresque et travailleuse du centre ICN. Patricia en repart totalement enthousiasmée et énergisée.		Second day in Addis Abeba for Patricia. Very busy day but also full of discoveries in a very friendly atmosphere. Enchanting and working visit to ICN center. Patricia leaves very happy and energised.
Il ne fait pas super chaud dans la capitale éthiopienne. Tout juste 22°C. Mais à côté de notre pauvre 1°C…. NO comment. Addis Abeba est en pleine expansion avec de nombreuses constructions. Ce boom a valu une visite de Christine Lagarde, la Directrice du FMI, le 15 décembre dernier.		It is not very hot in the Ethiopian capital. Just 22°C. But compared to our low 1°C…. No comment. Addis Abeba is booming with numerous constructions. This boom has motivated the visit of Christine Lagarde, IMF Managing Director, on last December 15th.
En faisant sa première exploration des alentours, hier, Patricia n'a pas échappé à la tradition africaine. Elel s'est faite abordée par un Ethiopien, soi-disant instituteur et coach sportif, qui lui a promis des massage, des visites culturelles… Quel charme !		With a first yesterday exploration of the surroundings, Patricia has not avoided the African tradition. She has been accosted by a so-said Ethiopian teacher and sport coach, who promised her massage, cultural visits… What a charm!
En Route 10h00. Ayni est passée chercher Patricia, comme convenu. Petite anecdote, Ayni ne connaissait l'adresse et a trouvé la guest-house très bien. Elle l'intàgrera dans son carnet d'adresse.		On the way 10:00 am. Ayni took Patricia, as agreed. Anecdote : Ayni didn't know the place and found it good. She will add it in her address book
Patricia a changé de couleur de taxi. Cette fois, avec Ayni, le taxi n'est pas jaune mais BLEU. Petit aperçu du trafic, avec Patricia au cours de son trajet jusqu'au centre. "Un peu comme partout, il y a un embouteillage qui se forme d'un coup et on ne sait pas pourquoi. Ça dure 20' et en sortant on ne voit rien de spécial. Les routes d'Addis Abeba sont très souvent sans asphalte et avec beaucoup de trous. Après plusieurs tentatives pour trouver le centre nous arrivons devant une porte en fer (souvent ainsi) d'une maison. Derrière, les femmes du centre nous attendent avec le sourire".		"A bit like anywhere, trafic jam that just comes up in one go and you don't know why. It lasts 20' and when you're out, you see nothing special. Roads in Addis Abeba are mostly  dirt roads with a lot of ruts. After severy attemps to find the center, we arrive in front of a iron gate (very usual) of a house. Behind, women's center are waiting for us smiling".
Arrivée au Centre Après une présentation du Centre - ses projets actuels et futurs -, pendant laquelle une dame "viendra embaumer le bureau de Ayni d'effluves de café fraîchement torréfié", Patricia et la Présidente de ICN travailleront pendant plus d'une heure pour peaufiner le projet que vous soutiendrez, en le formalisant dans le contrat de partenariat.		Arrival at ICN After a presentation of the Center - current and future projects - during which a lady "will come with fresh-roasted coffee embalming Ayni's office", Patricia and ICN President will work during more than one hour to refine the project, you are supporting, and that is now formalized in a partnership agreement.
Résultat de la discussion : le contrat est signé avec un superbe projet à soutenir !		Result: the agreement is signed with a fantastic project to support!
Patricia raconte : "Rapidement nous allons voir les femmes en plein apprentissage de filage de coton et du tissage. Il y a la manière ancestrale avec une sorte de toupie et la manière moderne avec un petit atelier. Toutes les formations que propose le centre durent entre 2 ou 3 mois, à cause de plusieurs facteurs comme la disponibilité des femmes et des enseignants,  leur capacité d'apprentissage et la qualité de la formation. Ayni me montre aussi la machine à café professionnelle (de bar), sur laquelle plusieurs filles se sont formées. Ayni en est fière et elle peut l'être ! Après  cette visite, les femmes nous attendent pour partager un excellent café et le pain de bienvenue, spécialement acheté pour ma venue. J'échange avec elle par le biais d'Ayni, car la plupart des femmes ici ne parlent pas anglais. Nous parlons du centre, d'elles et du projet. Les femmes sont adorables et je sens bien que ce centre est comme un petit paradis où elles peuvent se détendre, se confier et se reposer pour quelques heures. "		Patricia tells us the story : "very quickly we go to women learning how to spin and weave cotton. Here they learn the ancestral manner with a kind of a spinning top and the modern one with a smal workshop. All the training sessions that the Center offers last 2 to 3 months. Several factors: availability of the women and the teachers, capacity of learning and quality of training. Ayni shows me the professional coffee machine too, on which the women are getting trained. Ayni is very proud of it, and she's right to bie!  After this visit, women are waiting for us to share an excellent coffee and a welcome bread, especially bought for my coming. I talk to the women with the Ayni's help, for most of them don't speak English. We talk about the Center, themselves and the project. All these women are adorable and i can feel that this Center is for them a kind of heaven where they can relax, confide and take some rest for some hours."

En attendant la rencontre entre Patricia et ces femmes qui deviendront nos protégées, Genet et Ayelech, Ayni propose d'emmener Patricia faire ses emplettes.		Before meeting the women that will be our protegees, Genet and Ayelech, Ayni suggests to take Patricia for shopping.
"Première course : débloquer la carte SIM du téléphone que Ayni m'a achetée. Il semble que depuis peu,  le gouvernement bloque toutes les cartes et demande à  enregistrer une pièce d'identité pour la débloquer. La file d'attente est immense et Ayni utilise le fait que je sois étrangère pour ne pas faire la queue et ça marche.  En quelques minutes mon téléphone est opérationnel. "		"First thing: unlock the SIM-card Ayni bougth for me. It seems that since short while, the Government locks all the cards and requires an ID to unlock it. The waiting queue is huge and Ayni takes the excuse I'm a foreigner to avoid it. And it works! In a few minutes, my phone is operational"
"Deuxième course : changer de l'argent. J'ai pris des euros et en Éthiopie, la monnaie locale est le Birr. 2 options: banques et agences de change OU marché noir SI on connaît et veut un meilleur cours. Je vous laisse deviner ce que j'ai choisi 😊. Il n'ont apparemment que des coupures de 100 birr ce qui grossit considérablement mon ventre (*)..."		"Second thing: change money. I have with me euros the local currency is birr. In Ethiopia, you have 2 options: banks and change offices, OR black market, IF you know and want a better rate. I let you guess which one I picked. They have only 100 birr notes, which makes my stomach much bigger"

Prochains "achats" de Patricia, ce sera à Gondar pour "acquérir" les fameuses bonbonnes de gaz (elle ne pouvait pas les acheter à Addis Abeba, puisqu'elle prend l'avion jusqu'à Gondar !), mais aussi la tente et…. la mule !		Next "purchasing" for Patricia, it will in Gonder to "acquire" the famous gaz bottles (she couldn't buy in Addis Abeba given she'll take a flight to Gonder), but also the tent and…. A mule!
Retour au Centre		Back to the Center
En arrivant "Genet et Ayelech nous attendent avec l'impatiente de connaître en détail la bonne nouvelle. Ayni leur explique le projet de blanchisserie qu'elle va mettre en place avec les dons reçus associé à l'ascension de leur montagne :le Ras Dashen que je vais effectuer pour Elles. Leurs yeux sont pétillants et leur visage rayonnant. Nous discutons quelques instants pour leur expliquer le projet dans sa globalité et leur dire combien je compte sur elles pour me donner l'énergie de monter au sommet de leur montagne. Nous nous quittons par des embrassades sincères et promettons de se revoir avant mon retour chez moi".		When arriving "Genet and Ayelech, who are there, cannot wait to meet Patricia and learn in details the project defined. Ayni explains everything, including what she intends to buy with the funds we are raising all along my ascent of Ras Dashan I will do FOR THEM. Their eyes are sparkling and their face blossoming. We talk a while. I tell them the ins- and outs of the project, as well as  how much I count on them to get energy in my ascent up to the summit of the mountain. I leave with sincere hugs and we promise to see each other before my return to home."
Patricia restera encore quelques heures dans le centre, avant de retourner à son hôtel, accompagnée de Ayni, qui lui donne de dernières recommandations pour la suite de son voyage… et beaucoup de bienveillance, car Ayni ne lui cache pas sa surprise en apprenant que Patricia fera son expédition en solo.		Patricia will stay further hours in the center, before going back to hotel with Ayni, who gives her last recommendations for the rest of the trip… and a lot of kindness. For Ayni don't hide her surprise when learning that Patricia will trek alone.
Aujourd'hui et après		Today and following days
Tandis que nous nous préparons pour les fêtes de Noêl, Patricia est en route pour Gondar. Je lui parlerai mercredi soir pour avoir un dernier petit update, avant le début de son trekking, qui démarrera à… Debark (La ville porte bien son nom). Ensuite, pendant les deux semaines d'ascension, il n'y aura aucune connexion satellite. Les seules nouvelles que nous aurons, ce sera par l'intermédiaire de trekkers croisés au cours de son chemin, à qui Patricia demandera de nous écrire et nous envoyer des photos ou vidéos.. Enfin, si elle en croise !		While we're preparing the Christmas festivities, Patricia is currently flying to Gonder. I'll talk to her again on Wednesday evening for a last update before starting her trek… It will be in Debark (perfect name for an expedition). Then, during the next two weeks of ascent, no satellite connection. The only news we'll get will be thanks to other trekkers Patricia will meet on her pathway. Patricia will beg them to send a note and  photos/videos. Well, if she meets someone!
